Director Liability

Legal responsibility. A director of a non-profit is, by virtue of the position, legally responsible for any of the obligations of the non profit. For example, if a non-profit failed to make it’s remittances, a director could find themselves personally liable for them.  

Discipline Process

Employment practice. The steps to follow in an attempt to modify undesirable performance or behaviour of a worker in the workplace. 

Disclose

Share. Make available to another individual or entity or to share. In the context of privacy law, disclose means providing or allowing access to personal information.

Discriminate

Treat differently.  Treat a person differently because of a personal characteristic such as Indigenous identity, sexual orientation, or gender identity or expression.
