Collection

To gather. In the context of privacy law, it means gathering personal details from different sources in a variety of ways. Methods of collection include phone, fax, mail, email, social media, online, and in-person.

Collective Agreement

Group employment contract.The agreement that binds  an employer and a union representing the workers of the employer. This agreement is known as “collective agreement” because it applies to all the workers in the workplace. . It outlines the terms and conditions of employment for employees in a bargaining unit. A bargaining unit is a particular group of employees and often does not include management employees.

Commercial Purposes

Revenue generating. A The activities of non-profits and charities may be commercial if they involve selling to the public. Examples include selling tickets to shows or registration fees for programs. 

Conflict of Interest

Divided loyalties. A situation in which an individual or organization is involved in multiple interests that may be inconsistent with the duties to act in the best interests of the non-profit ie., where acting upon one interest could compromise another. Examples include nepotism (favouring family or friends) and self-dealing (favouring self).
