Employment & Human Rights 101 Workshop - Vancouver

The Workshop:

What are the legal differences between an employee and an independent contractor? What are an organization's responsibilities when hiring or terminating an employee? It can be difficult to know when legal advice is needed or what type of guidance is required to properly address an issue. This workshop provides foundation knowledge and capacity to identify, plan for, and respond to legal issues that can arise.

City of Vancouver Bursaries:

If you are a registered non-profit society delivering community social services within the geographical boundaries of the City of Vancouver, you may be eligible to receive a bursary to assist you with all or part of the workshop registration fee.

To apply, send an email to bursary.application@lawfornonprofits.ca with the subject line 'Vancouver Bursary' and include the following information:

  • Name of Society
  • Where the Society operates
  • Kind of work performed or services offered
  • A link to the Society's website

You will receive a reply with a code you can enter when you register that will apply the bursary amount you have been awarded if any.
